Yeehaw, Y'All- Doh doh doh doh doh
This weekend was meant to be a healthy get-together of ex-marathoners in Austin to run a half marathon. What it turned out to be was one of the most fun, unhealthiest bashes of my recent history. We lived it up even though it was only 41 degrees and continuously overcast. Every night had live music and libations. All the afternoons were spent napping and boutique shopping. Talk about perfection.
KB & CBish bought boots from Allen's Boots and I spent that time exploring the store. There was actually a clear toilet seat that had bullets in it- who actually wants that?!? And there was a W doll that would have been a joke in any other state, but in Tejas it was for real. Holy whoa.
On Sunday morning, we went to a Gospel Brunch at Stubbs in Austin. The band was clad in lilac from head to toe. The food was all you can eat BBQ and we were parked at a table right in front of the band. This 9 yr. old was jammin' on the drums and a few guys nearly 70 yrs. old were on vocals. It was quite a sight.
I picked up a pair of boots on my last day, phew!! Wouldn't have been a trip to Austin without leaving with some new kicks. Maybe next time I'm here, I'll get in a bit more of the "outdoors."
